What you pay, and what happens next to your photos
Fotelya costs €0, €49 or €89 per event, paid once, and €39 per month for professionals who run events all year round. Photos are hosted in the European Union, kept for a duration stated upfront, then permanently deleted. That last line is the one comparisons leave out, so here it is first.

On the paid plans, the number of guests is not limited. The limit applies to volume, never to the number of people uploading a photo.
Where are the photos hosted?
In the European Union. Files do not leave it, and no photo uploaded to Fotelya is used to train a model.
This is the first of the two questions that decide the real cost of collecting photos, and it can be put to any provider. With many solutions the answer is “in the United States”, which is not unlawful but changes the rules that apply to photos of the people close to you. We would rather answer before being asked.
What happens at the end of the included period?
Files are permanently deleted, on the date stated on the day of purchase. An email arrives 7 days beforehand so there is time to download the album.
This is the second question, and the one almost nobody talks about. Three answers exist on the market: deletion, archiving that becomes chargeable, and silence. The third costs the most, in memories rather than in euros, because it is discovered on the day the files have already gone.
What the price includes, and what it does not
Included
Guests upload from their browser, with no app to install and no account to create. The QR poster and table cards are provided, styled to your theme. On the paid plans, the number of guests is unlimited.
Not included
Nothing renews by itself on the Event and Premium plans: they are not subscriptions and no renewal is possible. There is no paid option to extend storage beyond the stated duration.
Checking any provider with two questions
These two questions apply to the whole market, not only to us. They are worth asking before paying anything, and the answers are almost never on a pricing page:
- Where are the photos hosted? If the answer is not written somewhere on the site, it has to be asked for. A clear answer is information in itself.
- What happens at the end of the included period? Deletion, chargeable archiving or silence. Silence is the one that costs the most.
A one-year plan is not a bad choice. It becomes one if nobody has written down the end date. The advice holds whichever provider is chosen: within six to eight weeks of the event, while it is still fresh, download the full album and put it somewhere that belongs to you.
