How it works

Paste your guest list, one first name per line. The tool automatically composes the sheets: four place cards per A4 page, with the name printed on both sides so it can be read from either side of the table.

The format: place cards that stand upright

Each card measures 10.5 x 14.8 cm when flat, which is one quarter of an A4 page. Folded in half along the dotted line, it becomes a place card of 10.5 x 7.4 cm: the classic format for reception place cards, wide enough for compound first names and tall enough to be seen from a distance.

The first name appears on both sides. Placed in the center of the plate or above the glass, the place card can be read by the guest looking for their seat as well as by their neighbors across the table, helping everyone remember names.

Cutting and folding: two minutes per sheet

First, cut the sheet into four along the cutting lines, using a guillotine if you have one, or a ruler and a craft knife otherwise. Then fold each card along the dotted line, with the name facing outward.

The secret to a sturdy place card: score the fold line with the back of a knife or the tip of a ruler before folding. The edge will be sharp, and the card won’t open during the evening.

The place card with QR code: the smart idea to know

A place card is right in front of each guest throughout the meal. It’s exactly the spot couples dream of to collect photos taken by their guests: while an entrance poster is seen once, the place card stays within reach all evening.

Paste the link to your shared photo album in the designated field: a small QR code is added under each name, inviting guests to share their photos. Your guests scan it with their phone camera, send their images, and everything arrives in the same place instead of being scattered across devices.

The generated QR code is static: the address is embedded in the design, with no redirection through a third-party service. No one can disable it, it never expires, and it will remain valid on the big day as well as after the honeymoon.

How many place cards to prepare

One per guest, including children once they have an assigned seat, plus a few blank cards for emergencies: a misspelled name, a last-minute guest, a card dropped in the sauce. Order one extra sheet more than strictly needed: the cost of printing is lower than reprinting the night before.

For the tables themselves, a line like "Kids' table" or "Head table" becomes just another card: the same tool serves for place cards and table names.

Common mistakes, and how to avoid them

Thin paper first: below 160 gsm, the stand-up card will collapse at the first draft. Aim for 200 to 250 gsm in matte finish; glossy paper reflects candlelight and makes the QR code hard to scan.

Printing "fit to page" next: your printer driver may shrink the sheet by a few percent. Print at 100 % of actual size, no scaling, to keep the exact 10.5 cm width and a sharp QR code.

The forgotten test finally: before printing thirty sheets, print one, fold a card, set it up, and scan the QR with two different phones. Two minutes that prevent nasty surprises.

And the photo album behind the QR code?

These place cards point to the link of your choice.
