How it works
Enter your names, the date, then your dishes service by service: the tool composes the menu in real time, with a balanced layout that adapts to the length of your meal. Four courses or ten, the spacing recalculates to stay elegant.
Choose one of six styles, matched to your place-cards and QR posters: the same palette, the same ornaments, a consistent stationery from the welcome to the tables. Then download the board in high resolution, or print directly.
The format: two A5 menus per A4 page
Each landscape A4 sheet holds two identical A5 menus of 14.8 x 21 cm, separated by a cut line: the most common format for reception menus, large enough to read by candlelight, compact enough to slip into a plate or between glasses.
Count one menu per guest for a French-style table, or two menus per table standing against a glass if you prefer to lighten the load. A guillotine cut or a ruler, and it's done.
What goes on a wedding menu?
The essentials fit in three courses: the starter, the main course, the dessert. Add cheese if it has its place in your region, the cocktail if you want to announce the wine-tasting pieces, or drinks if you serve pairings. The first line of each block becomes the service title, in spaced small caps.
Write the dishes as your caterer names them, without overloading: 'Chicken supreme with rich morel sauce' is enough. Guests with allergies will ask for details; the menu doesn't need to say everything, it needs to make them want to eat.
The menu with QR code: the discreet reminder that changes everything
The menu is the only document every guest reads, rereads, and keeps in front of them throughout the meal. It's the perfect spot to invite them to share their photos: where an entrance poster is seen once, the menu stays in front of the plate all evening.
Paste the link to your shared photo album in the designated field: a small QR code is added at the bottom of the menu, with the invitation to share. Your guests scan with their phone camera, send their pictures between courses, and everything arrives in the same place.
The generated QR code is static: the address is embedded in the design, with no redirection through a third-party service. No one can disable it, it never expires, and it will still work when you take the menu out of the keepsake box.
Printing: paper, weight, finish
A 200 to 300 g paper with a matte finish produces the most beautiful menus: a rigid card, pleasant to the touch, without glare under candlelight. Textured papers like laid or cotton work very well with Classic and Botanical styles.
Print at 100 % of the actual size, without scaling: the sheet is calibrated in landscape A4 at 300 dpi and the cut along the central line gives two exact A5 menus. A desktop printer will suffice, but a local print shop will do even better for thirty copies.
Common mistakes, and how to avoid them
First, the menu is too wordy: eight lines per course become unreadable from a distance and overwhelm the layout. The tool reduces the text size to fit everything, but a menu breathes better with two or three dishes per course.
Next, the mistake in a dish name: have the caterer proofread the sheet before printing thirty copies; they will spot the error in ten seconds.
Finally, the forgotten test: print a sheet, cut it, place the menu on a table, and scan the QR code with two different phones. Two minutes that avoid unpleasant surprises on the big day.
And the photo album behind the QR code?
This menu links to your chosen URL. If that link is a Fotelya album, your guests can upload photos and videos with a single scan, without an app or account, and you can display them live on a photo wall during the evening. Data hosted in the European Union, gallery automatically deleted after the event.
